Municipal Ordinances

A number of municipalities in Door County have passed noxious weed ordinances for Phragmites or a suite of other invasive species on the Door Peninsula.  These ordinances are shared below to inform residents of Door County who reside in these municipalities, and as examples of how a local noxious weed ordinance can be applied.


DCIST is working closely with municipalities that have passed noxious weed ordinances.  DCIST partners and volunteers provide inventory of invasive species to the Town or City and help coordinate large-scale treatments within these municipalities.  DCIST has also created a guide to help others interested in starting a similar program at a local scale.  This guide can also be downloaded below.
